L'Architettura viene intesa come il frutto dell'intervento dell'uomo per modificare la situazione esistente e creare spazi attrezzati per il raggiungimento del proprio benessere e della soddisfazione attraverso piacevoli esperienze sensoriali. L'ambito civile o industriale definisce solo i requisiti funzionali, tra loro molto diversi, e la relativa importanza delle infrastrutture nei confronti dello spazio vero e proprio. La progettazione integrata di spazi e infrastrutture è la sola vera possibilità di creare Architettura: come accade per qualsiasi organismo vivente, la struttura, l'involucro e tutti i vari impianti devono essere concepiti gli uni in funzione degli altri in una visione unitaria dell'insieme.

Architecture is seen as the end result of man's intervention in order to change his existing environment and create spaces equipped to achieve his own well-being and satisfaction through pleasurable and sensory experiences. The civil or industrial environment only defines functional requirements - very different from each other - and the relative importance of plants in comparison to space in itself. The integrated planning of spaces and infrastructures is the sole true way in which architecture can be created: as for any living organism, the structure, shell and all the support systems must be conceived so that each element interrelates with another to achieve a unified whole.
