L'Architettura di un interno deve essere interpretata alla luce delle qualità proprie dello spazio vuoto, percepibile attraverso le sue caratteristiche di materia, luce, profumo e suono. Essa è quindi un naturale complemento di qualità già presenti nello spazio stesso e di per sé sufficienti a catalogarlo come Architettura. Un intervento che andasse a snaturare le caratteristiche dello spazio primitivo non potrebbe qualificarsi come Architettura di interno perché ne maschererebbe l'essenza: in tal caso si tratterebbe di un'operazione meglio definibile come "allestimento", caratterizzato di per sé dalla artificiosità e dalla temporaneità. Sia nella valutazione delle caratteristiche visibili dello spazio vuoto che nei successivi studi di completamento vengono utilizzate tecniche di simulazione virtuale tridimensionale computerizzata.

The architecture of an interior has to be understood in the light of the particular qualities of the empty space in question: materials, light, smell and sound. It is, therefore, a natural complement to the qualities already present in that space is in itself sufficient to categorise it as architecture. An intervention that compromises the natural characteristics of an untouched space cannot be called interior architecture because it covers up the essential features of that space: a better definition in this case might be “staging” indicating something which is necessarily artificial and temporary. Both in the evaluation of the visual characteristics of the empty space and in the subsequent realisation of the project, we make use of computerised 3D virtual simulation.
